Viewing and Remapping Cash Flow

Cash flow mapping refers to the relationship between the accounts on the spreadsheet and the cash flow reports. If you need to adjust for a particular client where an account goes on each type of cash flow report, you can remap the cash flow (separately for each report).

Statement Analyzer offers the option of displaying the cash flow information for the currently active (highlighted) account at the top of the spreadsheet. This is displayed only if you have chosen Show Cash Flow Mapping from the action menu. By default, this description refers to the primary cash flow report for the client’s industry. However, whenever you remap any account for another type of cash flow report, the description changes to reflect that report.

When you print a cash flow report that you remapped, the origin and destination of the remapped line(s) will be identified with arrows.

Note: Remapping with this method affects this client's statement only, not statements for other clients.

Steps: View Cash Flow

You have the option of displaying the cash flow information for the currently active (highlighted) account at the top of the spreadsheet. By default, this description refers to the primary cash flow report for the client's industry. However, whenever you remap any account for another type of cash flow report, the description changes to reflect that report.

To display cash flow information on the spreadsheet, follow these steps from the historical statement page:

  1. Click in the upper-right corner of the spreadsheet and choose Show Cash Flow Mapping.

  2. Click an account title or cell in the statement, and the cash flow mapping for that account appears at the top of the spreadsheet.

Note: The cash flow mapping information is displayed for your current session with the historical statement only. After you exit the statement, the mapping information will not be displayed the next time you access the statement unless you choose the Show Cash Flow Mapping option again.

Steps: Remap Cash Flow

To change the cash flow mapping for an account in a client's statement, follow these steps from the historical statement page:

  1. Right-click the account title and choose Cash Flow Remapping.

  2. Complete the fields in the Cash Flow Remapping dialog box as necessary.

    Breakout

As soon as you select a new report item from the Additional Mapping drop-down list, the Breakout check box becomes selected and grayed out to indicate that you've changed the mapping (if you reselect the original report item, the Breakout check box reverts to deselected).

    Reset button

Click this button to return the mapping to its original setting.

  3. Click OK.

Your changes are reflected in the cash flow mapping information displayed in the upper-left corner of the spreadsheet.
