The Search flyout is always accessible from the Search flyout tab on the right side of the application window and allows you to view your entire client database and search for a client record.

Getting to This Flyout

Move your mouse very slowly over (or click) the Search flyout tab to open the flyout.

Note: When you move your mouse away from the flyout pane, it will retract. To keep it on-screen, click (the Pin button). After you pin it down, it won't retract until you click the button again (when the pane is pinned down, the button changes into the Unpin button ).

Using This Flyout

You can use the Look For field and Fields Displayed drop-down lists to search for clients in several ways. Once you have completed your search, you can use the Go To field to choose how you would like to use the client information.

Using the Look For field

  1. First, select either the Starts With or Contains option located directly below the Look For field.

    • Starts With: If you check the radio button for Starts With, the application will search for all client records that start with the information that you will enter in the Look For field.

    • Contains: If you check the radio button for Contains, the application will search for all client records that contain the information that you will enter in the Look For field.

  2. In the Look For field, enter the client's name and click the Search button to open the client's record. Or, enter a letter/group of letters from the client's name to pull up a list of clients with that letter/group of letters in their names.

Or leave the Look For field blank and click Search to pull up a list of all available clients.

  3. In the Clients list, click the client's name to open the record.

Using the Fields Displayed drop-down lists

The Fields Displayed area contains two drop-down lists. These two drop-down lists allow you to choose the two sets of information that you will see in the client list when the application completes the search.

Using the Go To drop-down list

Once the search is complete, use the Go To field to choose how you would like to use the client information.

  1. Select one of the four options from the drop-down list:

    • Edit Statement: Opens the historical statement page for the selected client in edit mode. If no statement exists for the client, you'll be prompted to create one.

Note: If the client does not have a statement defined, choosing Edit Statement will allow you to create a statement.

    • Run Reports: Opens the Run Reports dialog box from which you can select and run reports for the selected client. (A statement must exist for the client in order to run reports. If no statement exists, you'll receive a message telling you that the application is unable to run a report for the client.)

    • Run Packaged Reports: Opens the Run Packaged Reports dialog box, where you can specify which package of reports you want to generate. You can also specify the report period for which to generate the report package and the destination file type.

    • View Client Basic Information: Opens the client page for the selected client.

    • Select Projection: Opens the Select Projection dialog box from which you can jump to the projection page for the selected client. (A statement must exist for the client in order to create a projection. If no statement exists, you'll receive a message telling you that you cannot create a projection for the client.)

    • Edit Client Profile: Opens the Edit Client Profile dialog box, enabling you to quickly edit the client information as well as supply RMA submission information.  (RMA submission applies to administrators only.)

    • Edit Covenant: Opens the Covenant statement so you can add, edit, or delete covenants.

  2. After you select one of the above options, go to the Clients list on the lower half of the flyout pane and click on the client information for the client you would like to view.
